Paying for Google Ads from Nepal: Dollar Cards vs Agency Billing (2026)
Google Ads from Nepal is USD billing with an NPR P&L. The card can be the company’s dollar card or an agency invoice. It is not a reason to surrender admin. Arjan KC keeps those separate: who pays Google, who sees search terms, who invoices NPR management (pricing).

Do not confuse billing with performance
Numbered Search objects assume spend actually ran:
- Education NPR 300,000/month Search held, −40% CPL — /case-studies/nepal-education-consultancy-ppc/
- Services spend NPR 85,000 → 72,000 while CPA fell — /case-studies/kathmandu-home-services-google-ads/
How the dollar card was loaded is not the cite. This page is payment hygiene.

Three ways money reaches Google
| Model | Use when | Fail when |
|---|---|---|
| Company dollar / prepaid card | You can clear KYC and monthly spend | Card sleeps, 3-D Secure fails, campaigns pause overnight |
| Agency billed, client-owned account | Limits or ops capacity | No written NPR invoice vs USD spend; no client admin |
| Spend inside vendor MCC only | Never as the long-term model | You cannot export, audit, or fire them |
Billing currency is set at account creation. Changing it later is painful — pick USD (typical) once, document FX in the finance sheet.

What to put in the retainer
- Monthly USD spend vs NPR management fee as two lines (pricing). Search Performance SKU is NPR 65,000/month + spend.
- Who holds the card, who gets decline emails, who top-ups before Dashain — festival SLA.
- Ads + GA4 still company-owned — GTM ownership.
CPC/CPL planning numbers: cost post. Do not invent a “dollar card discount.”
