On-Page SEO Checklist (MBA DM)

Use with your Week 3 deliverable and the toolkit.

Before you write

  • Primary keyword chosen (commercial or transactional for lead-gen sandboxes)
  • Intent confirmed by looking at the live top-5 SERP
  • 2–3 secondary keywords that share the same intent (no cannibalising cluster)

On the page

  • Title tag includes primary keyword near the front; brand at the end if space
  • Meta description sells the click (benefit + CTA); not keyword spam
  • One H1 that matches the offer (not a duplicate of the title word-for-word)
  • H2/H3s describe real sections a user needs
  • URL slug short and readable (/ac-repair-kathmandu not /page1)
  • Primary keyword appears naturally in first ~100 words
  • Image filenames/alt text describe the image (not IMG_001)
  • Internal link to a related section or contact/WhatsApp CTA
  • Mobile layout checked; no horizontal scroll

Sanity

  • Page answers the query better than a vague brochure
  • No doorway/spam patterns; claims are believable for Nepal customers

Nepal context (class discussion)

  • Prefer city + service slugs when the business is local (/dentist-lalitpur), not US-style national vanity keywords.
  • WhatsApp / phone CTAs count as conversions for many Nepali SMEs — link them from the page and mention tracking in your memo.
  • Festival landings (Dashain/Tihar) should be separate URLs, not homepage rewrites.
  • Compare your checklist against the public SEO checklist and SEO services Nepal when you want industry depth beyond the sandbox.
