How Business Processes Affect Marketing Performance
I once ran a campaign for a cleaning service in Kathmandu. The ads were perfect. The Leads were pouring in for NPR 100 each. But revenue didn’t budge.
I listened to the recordings of the sales calls. Receptionist: “Hello?” (Sounding annoyed) Customer: “I saw your ad for cleaning…” Receiver: “Sir is not here. Call back later.” Click.
We didn’t have a marketing problem. We had a Process Problem.
Marketing Amplifies Reality
Marketing adds velocity to your business. If your business is a well-oiled machine, marketing accelerates growth. If your business is broken, marketing accelerates disaster.
When you invite 1,000 people to a restaurant with bad food, you don’t grow. You just destroy your reputation faster.

The 3 Bottlenecks That Kill Campaigns
1. The Speed to Lead
If a lead fills out a form on Facebook, you have 5 minutes to call them. After 5 minutes, their interest drops by 400%. Most Nepali companies call them “tomorrow.” The Fix: Automate an SMS response immediately.
2. Inventory Management
Don’t run ads for a product you don’t have. I’ve seen e-commerce sites spend lakhs on ads for a “Best Seller” that is Out of Stock. The Fix: Connect your Inventory system to your Ad Manager.
3. The “Last Mile” Delivery
In Nepal, delivery is chaos. If your delivery rider is rude, or late, or refuses to find the location, the customer blames the Brand, not the rider. The Fix:Vet your logistics partner as strictly as your marketing agency.

Conclusion
Before you double your ad budget, audit your operations. Fix the holes in the bucket before you turn on the hose.
