A shorter website-only summary also lives at /privacy-policy.html. This page is the canonical policy for Play Store listings and in-app “Privacy Policy” links.

1. Website (arjankc.com.np)

Information we may collect

  • Contact details you send us — e.g. name, email, phone, if you email or message us
  • Usage / log data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, approximate time on page, and similar diagnostics from our host and analytics tools
  • Cookies and similar tech — session, preference, and analytics/advertising cookies where enabled (including Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager and related services)

How we use it

  • To operate and improve the Site
  • To respond to enquiries
  • To understand traffic and content performance
  • To detect abuse or technical issues

Analytics and ads on the Site

We may use Google Analytics and related Google services. Google may process usage data under Google’s Privacy Policy. You can limit Analytics via the Google Analytics opt-out add-on where available, and control advertising preferences in your Google / device settings.

2. Study companion Apps

What the Apps do

The Apps load course notes and related study tools over HTTPS from our content APIs. They do not require an account.

Data on your device (local)

Stored only on the device unless you clear app storage or uninstall:

  • Study progress, streaks, daily goals, theme, and font size
  • Recently viewed items
  • Notification / reminder preferences (if you enable reminders)

Advertising (Google AdMob)

When ads are enabled for a brand build, Google AdMob may use device advertising identifiers and interaction data to show and measure ads, subject to Google’s advertising / AdMob policies and any consent form shown in-region (e.g. EEA/UK).

Optional rewarded ads can unlock a temporary ad-free window. That does not sell your personal data to us.

Analytics (optional)

If a brand build includes Firebase Analytics (google-services.json), anonymous or aggregated usage events may be collected to improve the Apps. Builds without Firebase config do not send that analytics stream.

Network

Apps request course indexes and article HTML from our servers. Standard server logs (IP, user agent, timestamps) may be retained by the host for security and operations.

Permissions the Apps may request

  • Internet / network state — content and ads
  • Notifications — optional study reminders (off by default until you enable them)
  • Exact alarms — schedule reminders at preferred times
  • Advertising ID — AdMob when ads are enabled (respect system advertising ID / opt-out controls)

Where applicable we process data to provide the Site/Apps, improve them, show ads (Apps), and respond to you. In Nepal, personal information should be collected and used with consent and for stated purposes under the Individual Privacy Act, 2075 (2018), among other laws. This page is informational, not legal advice.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data with processors only as needed to run the Site/Apps — for example hosting, Google Analytics, and Google AdMob — under their terms and policies.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security.

5. Retention and deletion

  • Local App data — until you clear storage or uninstall
  • Site analytics / logs — per provider and host retention practices
  • Email/enquiry content — as long as needed to respond and keep a reasonable business record

To stop advertising identifiers on Android, use system advertising ID controls or uninstall the App. Email arjan@gurkhatech.com for privacy questions.

6. Children

The Site and Apps are aimed at adult learners and higher-education students. They are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Parents/guardians who believe a child provided data should contact us so we can delete it.

7. Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect data, but no internet transmission or storage method is 100% secure.

Third-party links (including course partners or social profiles) have their own policies. We are not responsible for their practices.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Site or Apps after changes means you accept the updated policy.
