This final unit addresses some of the most important and challenging issues in the world of Information Technology: security, ethics, and privacy. As we become more reliant on computers and the internet, the need to protect our information assets and to use technology in a responsible and ethical manner has never been greater.
We will explore the major threats to computer security, including unauthorized access, malware, and software piracy. We will then look at the controls used to protect against these threats, such as firewalls and encryption. Finally, we will discuss the broader ethical and legal responsibilities of IT professionals, including an overview of cyber law and copyright.
