Unit 3: Inside the Computer - CPU, Memory, and Interconnections
This unit delves into the core hardware components that make a computer work. We will look inside the computer case to understand the roles of the most important components and how they interact with each other.
We will start with the “brain” of the computer, the Central Processing Unit (CPU), and explore how it executes instructions. We will then examine the memory hierarchy, from the ultra-fast registers and cache to the main RAM and slower secondary storage devices. Finally, we will look at how all of these components are connected via the motherboard and its system buses.
