Unit 2: Information Systems in Business
This unit explores the critical role that Information Technology (IT) and Information Systems (IS) play in the modern business world. We will examine how we have moved into an “Information Age” where data is a key asset, and how businesses have evolved to use technology not just for basic operations, but as a strategic tool.
We will cover the different types of business information systems, from those that serve individual departments to large-scale enterprise systems. We will also look at the rise of e-business and how it has changed the way companies interact with their customers and partners.
