Day 2

Analytics & Paid Media

ACAMIT Digital Marketing Bootcamp

Point money and measurement at yesterday’s live URL

Open your published site

If it is still a draft, publish it now.
Ads and analytics need a real URL.

Paid media is a megaphone

It does not fix a weak page. It shouts whatever you already built.

Two megaphones

Google Ads

People search “momos Lagankhel”.

High intent. You pay per click.

Meta Ads

People are scrolling Instagram / Facebook.

You interrupt. Creative matters more.

Search = raised hand

“hotel near Patan Durbar” is already shopping.

Social = walking past a stall

A plating reel can stop the thumb. Then the site must close.

Three numbers. That’s enough today.

CPC

Cost per click

CTR

Clicks ÷ impressions

Conversion

Did they WhatsApp?

NPR 500

A weekend test. Not a US case study.

If CPC is NPR 25, you bought ~20 visits.
Where did they land?

Wrong landing

Ad → Instagram bio

Link in bio. Grid. Noise.

Ad → your Google Site

One offer. One button. You own it.

Analytics = a health check

Who came. From where. Which page. Did they leave.

What GA4 will show you

  • Reports → Realtime (did my test hit?)
  • Acquisition (Google, direct, social)
  • Pages (Home vs Contact)

Your ID looks like this

G-XXXXXXXXXX

That string is what you paste into Google Sites.

Google Sites caveat

Sites supports GA4. It does not support a Meta Pixel in the header.

To retarget on Instagram later, you graduate to WordPress or a proper host.

UTM = a name tag on the link

?utm_source=classroom&utm_medium=qr&utm_campaign=day2

When classmates click, Analytics can tell you it was class — not magic.

Lab: install GA4 (no ad spend required)

  1. analytics.google.com → start measuring
  2. Create account + property (your mock brand)
  3. Platform: Web → paste your live Sites URL
  4. Copy Measurement ID
  5. Sites → Settings → Analytics → paste → Publish again

Workshop clock

Same published URL as Day 1.

0–15 min

Create the GA4 property. Copy G-….

15–35 min

Paste into Google Sites Settings → Analytics. Hit Publish.

35–50 min

Open the live site on your phone. Watch Realtime. You should appear.

50–60 min

Sketch a NPR 500 test: keyword or interest, headline, URL = your site. Do not spend unless the instructor says so.

Done when

  • Measurement ID is on the live site
  • Realtime showed your visit
  • You can say where a paid click would land

Two Nepal sketches

Café

Search: “best momo Lagankhel”

Land: Menu page + WhatsApp

IT desk

Meta: 18–24, Lalitpur, “laptops”

Land: Services + price range

The journey you are measuring

See ad or search → open site → scroll → tap WhatsApp

If Realtime is empty, the tag is not live yet.

Tomorrow

Make something people actually share.
Then republish the same site.
